Principal Steve Unowsky, Principal of both Linwood Monroe Arts Plus campuses  Principal Steve Unowsky In 2008-2009, Linwood A+ programming combined with Monroe Community School. This merger resulted in an innovative and new Pre-K-8 arts school across two campuses. We look forward to serving children and families all the way through the eight grades. Linwood A+ Elementary began as an Arts-Infused Magnet School in the fall of 1995, supporting students through music, drama, dance, and the visual arts. Monroe Community School has long been a pillar of the Monroe/West 7th Community, with a long tradition of excellence in education for neighborhood students and families. We hope for all families to be involved in the school community. Research tells us that students do better in school when family members are involved. Please take time to support you student’s learning by attending conferences, volunteering in the classroom or school, attending parent nights & evening programs, joining school committees (Site Council, PTA), going on field trips, attending Friday Gatherings, and making sure that your child reads and completes homework regularly.
